Freddie Prinze Jr. shares secrets to his private marriage

Freddie Prinze Jr. recently opened up about his life with wife Sarah Michelle Gellar. The couple has been married for over 22 years, and they have kept their romance mostly private. 

In a recent episode of the Oldish podcast, hosted by his friend Brian Austin Green, Freddie shared why they choose to stay out of the spotlight.

During the podcast, which aired on November 4, Prinze talked about how they have avoided public attention. He explained that it is possible to control how much people see of you. 

When Randy Spelling, one of the co-hosts, praised their ability to stay private, Freddie agreed, saying, “That’s by choice, though.” He added that they both make decisions to keep their lives out of the public eye.

Freddie, 48, explained that it has been easy for them to stay away from the spotlight because they do not go to parties or popular places. 

“I don’t go anywhere. I don’t go to parties,” he said. He mentioned that they have their favorite restaurants, but those places are not trendy and do not attract paparazzi. This helps them avoid unwanted attention.

He also pointed out that there are paparazzi who wait near their home, but he does not mind. “There are people that are way more famous than me on my street,” he said. 

He jokingly mentioned that he waits for celebrities like Arnold Schwarzenegger to leave before he goes out, so the photographers follow them instead.

Freddie also talked about Sarah’s background. She grew up in New York and experienced the nightlife before she turned 21. 

He said, “I can count on one hand how many clubs I’ve been to my whole life.” He remembered one time he went to a club with Brian, where they enjoyed live music.

Freddie and Sarah first met on the set of the 1997 movie I Know What You Did Last Summer. 

They fell in love and got married in September 2002. Since then, they have welcomed two children: a daughter named Charlotte, who is now 15 years old, and a son named Rocky, who is 12. The couple has made their family a priority, and their relationship has remained strong over the years.

Recently, they celebrated their 22nd wedding anniversary. Freddie shared a sweet photo of them together, showing how much they love each other. In the picture, he wrapped his arms around Sarah's waist, and they both looked very happy.

Freddie believes that the secret to their long-lasting marriage is their choice to stay private. They do not feel the need to share every moment of their lives on social media. By doing this, they can enjoy their time together without outside distractions.
