Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki, an active volcano in East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia, has erupted several times, sending ash and lava into the sky. The volcano erupted violently on Sunday, killing at least nine people. The eruptions have continued since then, and authorities are working hard to protect people in nearby villages.

Since the deadly eruption on Sunday, authorities have evacuated around 10,700 people from villages near the volcano.

There are still about 16,000 people in danger, and efforts to move them to safety are ongoing. As the eruptions continue, the authorities have decided to expand the danger zone. They are now planning to extend the restricted area to nine kilometers from the crater, up from eight kilometers.

The eruptions are not slowing down.

On Friday, the volcano erupted multiple times, sending ash clouds as high as 10 kilometers into the air. Hot lava and dangerous clouds have been moving west and northwest of the volcano. According to Muhammad Wafid, the head of Indonesia’s volcanology agency, the situation is still very dangerous. The agency continues to monitor the volcano closely.

The volcanic eruptions have caused major disruptions in the area.

Many people have lost their homes, and the evacuation process is moving slowly but steadily. The government is working with emergency teams to help those who have been affected by the disaster.

Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki is one of many active volcanoes in Indonesia. The country is known for its frequent volcanic activity because it sits on the Pacific Ring of Fire. Volcanic eruptions like this one are a serious concern for the people living near the volcanoes.

As the eruptions continue, experts urge people to stay away from the danger zone. They are warning that more eruptions are likely. People in nearby areas are advised to stay informed and follow all evacuation orders to stay safe. The situation remains tense, and authorities are doing everything they can to keep people safe.

For now, the people of East Nusa Tenggara wait and hope for the eruptions to stop, while emergency teams work around the clock to assist those in need.
