Donald Trump has been very vocal about his stance on the Russia-Ukraine war. He has urged Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the conflict and seek a negotiated settlement, warning that continuing the war would be detrimental to Russia. Trump noted that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is open to a peace deal and emphasized the need to find a solution.

Trump has repeatedly said that he could bring an end to the war within 24 hours of taking office, although he hasn't provided any specific plans on how he would do this. He has criticized Putin for not reaching an agreement and has pointed out that Russia is facing significant economic challenges, including high inflation.

Moreover, Trump has highlighted the ongoing human and economic toll of the war, drawing attention to the hardships faced by both Russians and Ukrainians. He has indicated his willingness to meet with Putin to discuss the matter and has stressed the importance of achieving a lasting resolution that takes into account the interests of all parties involved.

On Monday, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that he is open to discussions with the new US administration about the Ukraine crisis. He highlighted the need to tackle the underlying issues of the conflict and to work towards a lasting peace that respects the legitimate interests of all nations involved.

Putin reiterated that Moscow has always been open to cooperation with any US administration and stressed that the dialogue should be built on equality and mutual respect. He also mentioned that a potential resolution of the Ukraine crisis should not involve a temporary truce to adjust forces for further conflict but should aim for long-term peace.

Additionally, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov confirmed that Moscow is prepared for contact with the new US administration and other Western leaders. Putin congratulated the new US president on his inauguration and expressed hope for a constructive dialogue.

In a recent meeting, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov expressed that Moscow is open to engaging with the new US administration and other Western leaders.

On Monday, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced its willingness to restart dialogue with Japan, contingent upon Tokyo taking concrete steps to alter its unfriendly stance.

"The Russian side is ready to consider Japan's proposals for dialogue, as long as they are backed by tangible actions from Tokyo that indicate a departure from hostile policies," the ministry stated in a release commemorating the centenary of diplomatic relations between Russia and Japan.

Russia also conveyed its belief that there are reasonable politicians and influential public figures in Japan who recognize the harmful impact of the anti-Russian rhetoric pushed by their government on the Japanese people.

Russia has recently made strides in four critical areas along the front line in eastern Ukraine. Moscow has pushed closer to the beleaguered city of Pokrovsk and the northeastern city of Kupiansk. Furthermore, Russian forces have taken control of villages near the southern Zaporizhzhia region, as well as the Ukrainian cities of Sloviansk and Kramatorsk.

In a tragic incident, more than a dozen people lost their lives due to a Russian glide bomb strike in Zaporizhzhia. The missile targeted the city's industrial infrastructure, resulting in extensive damage and civilian casualties.

In response to a large-scale missile attack from Russia, Ukraine has been compelled to implement preventive power cuts across several regions. These attacks specifically aimed at energy facilities, including gas infrastructure.
