After a relationship that lasted two decades, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are ending their marriage—again. On Tuesday, August 20, Lopez, 55, filed for divorce from Affleck, 52. This decision comes just over two years after they got back together and married in July 2022.

Lopez filed for divorce in Los Angeles Superior Court, with April 26, 2024, listed as the date they separated. She filed the papers herself, without a lawyer. The news was first reported by TMZ. Sources say there is no prenuptial agreement.

Lopez and Affleck’s relationship has been full of ups and downs, with two engagements, two weddings, and countless headlines. They first got together in the early 2000s and became one of Hollywood’s most talked-about couples, often called “Bennifer.”

They were engaged in 2002 but called off their wedding in September 2003 due to media pressure. They eventually broke up in January 2004.

Nearly two decades later, they got back together in 2021, much to the delight of fans. They married twice in 2022—first in a quick ceremony in Las Vegas in July, followed by a bigger celebration at Affleck’s Georgia estate in August.
