Speculation about his return intensified when he recently left rival wrestling company All Elite Wrestling (AEW). WWE's chief content officer, Triple H, revealed that CM Punk's return in his hometown of Chicago was a last-minute decision.
He shared in a post-show press conference that this was an unexpected and exciting moment that came together rapidly. It seemed like it wouldn't happen, but suddenly it did.

Although CM Punk did not partake in an actual wrestling match during his astonishing WWE return and didn't even step foot in the ring, his mere appearance was enough to ignite euphoria among fans.
