The second season of the anthology television series Feud, titled "Feud: Capote vs. The Swans," was created by Ryan Murphy, Jaffe Cohen, and Michael Zam for FX in 2017. This season, consisting of eight episodes, is directed by Gus Van Sant, Max Winkler, and Jennifer Lynch, with the script written by Jon Robin Baitz. It is based on the bestselling book "Capote's Women: A True Story of Love, Betrayal, and a Swan Song for an Era" by Laurence Leamer. 

The premiere of the first two episodes is scheduled for January 31, 2024, and viewers can watch each episode on Hulu the day after it airs.

Tom Hollander takes on the role of Truman Capote in the series. Naomi Watts, who also serves as an executive producer on the installment, portrays the "swans" alongside Diane Lane, Chloë Sevigny, and Calista Flockhart. The series also features Demi Moore, Molly Ringwald, Treat Williams, Joe Mantello, and Russell Tovey.

Story of 'Feud: Capote vs. The Swans'

A highly-anticipated television series, "Feud: Capote vs. The Swans," is set to premiere on FX this Wednesday. This anthology series delves into the complex energetic friendship, deception, and the elite social circles of New York City. At the center of it all is Truman Capote, a renowned writer who was deeply entrenched in the high-society scene. Capote's close association with a group of rich and glamorous women, whom he affectionately referred to as "the swans," forms the basis of this captivating eight-episode limited series.

Drawing inspiration from the bestselling book "Capote's Women: A True Story of Love, Betrayal, and a Swan Song for an Era" by Laurence Leamer, the show explores Capote's complex relationships with these women. Initially adding himself into their lives, Capote establishes deep friendships and becomes their trusted confidante. 

However, his actions take a unfaithful turn as he ultimately betrays them by penning a thinly surrounded fictionalized role of their lives, exposing their most intimate secrets. FX promises an captivating story that delves into the complexities of human connections and the consequences of betrayal.

In 2017, Ryan Murphy's "Feud" premiered its first season, presenting a captivating exploration of the bitter rivalry between Bette Davis and Joan Crawford, who famously starred in "What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?". This remarkable show received an impressive 18 Emmy nominations and secured two wins. However, plans for a second season, which would have focused on the troubled marriage of Prince Charles and Princess Diana, were ultimately abandoned. Murphy believed that he could never surpass the excellence of "The Crown." Additionally, a potential season centered around the contentious relationship between William F. Buckley and Gore Vidal also fell through. Despite these setbacks, Murphy and his team briefly considered several other concepts, although none of them gained much traction.
