Formula One Star Designer Adrian Newey To Join Aston Martin in March 2025

Adrian Newey, a famous designer in Formula One, will start working with Aston Martin on March 1 next year. He will be their Managing Technical Partner and will also own a part of the team.

Newey, who is 65, used to work with Red Bull Racing. His cars won 25 championships with teams like Williams, McLaren, and Red Bull. His 2023 Red Bull car was the best ever, winning 21 out of 22 races.

In May, Newey said he was leaving Red Bull to find new challenges. The 2025 season starts on March 16 with the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne. This will be the last season before big changes in 2026, when Formula One will have new engines and rules.

Other teams, like Ferrari and McLaren, wanted Newey too, but he chose Aston Martin. Though we don’t know his exact salary or share details, reports say he will earn around £20 million ($26.17 million) a year.

Aston Martin is owned by Lawrence Stroll from Canada. The team’s drivers are Fernando Alonso, who is a two-time world champion, and Lance Stroll, Lawrence’s son. Aston Martin wants to become one of the best teams in Formula One.

Newey is excited about joining Aston Martin. He said, “I am thrilled to be joining the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One team. Lawrence Stroll’s passion and commitment are impressive. He wants to build a top team.”

Newey also said he always wanted to work with Alonso, and now he can. Aston Martin has been spending a lot of money, building a new factory and hiring top people. Andy Cowell, who used to lead Mercedes engines, is now the CEO. Enrico Cardile, who used to work at Ferrari, has joined the team too.

Aston Martin is currently in fifth place in the standings. They will start working with Honda, who currently supplies engines for Red Bull, in 2026. Stroll said, “Adrian is the best in the world. This is huge news for us. We are serious about winning championships.”
