Jesse Metcalfe shares insights about dating outside entertainment

Jesse Metcalfe, known for his role on Desperate Housewives, is enjoying life with his girlfriend, Helene Immel. The couple attended the premiere of Cirque du Soleil's KOOZA on October 24. At the event, Jesse shared his thoughts on dating someone outside the entertainment world.

Jesse, who is 45, believes that dating outside the industry is a good balance. He told PEOPLE, “It’s always a good balance for someone in this crazy business to date someone outside of the entertainment industry.” This perspective helps him maintain a healthy relationship amid the hustle and bustle of Hollywood.

Helene Immel is a real estate agent, and while she once released music under the name Lenachka, her focus now is on real estate. They have been together since 2023, and their relationship has blossomed. They went Instagram official on Jesse’s 45th birthday, which is December 9. Helene shared a sweet photo of them hiking together, writing, “Here’s to many more hikes with you. Happy Birthday baby @realjessemetcalfe 🤍”

Since then, Jesse and Helene have been spotted at several events together. They enjoyed the opening night of the Los Angeles Art Show on Valentine’s Day, attended an NFL game in September, and were present at the EMA Awards Gala on October 26. They seem to be a happy couple, enjoying each other's company at various public events.

At the Cirque du Soleil premiere, Jesse expressed his excitement about the show. “We’re super excited to be here,” he said. “They’re incredible.” It’s clear that Jesse enjoys attending events like this with Helene.

While sharing details about his life, Jesse mentioned that he hasn't watched Desperate Housewives in a long time. The show aired from 2004 to 2012 and had eight successful seasons on ABC. Jesse played John Rowland, a gardener who had a romantic relationship with Eva Longoria’s character, Gabrielle Solis. When asked if he compares his body from back then to now, Jesse responded, “Yeah, I think I’m in better shape now.”

Jesse explained that he has gained some weight, but he believes it is in a good way. He says, “I sort of had that youthful, kind of thinner physique. I’ve since put on a couple of pounds, but in a good way.” It sounds like he feels more confident in his current shape.

Staying fit is very important to Jesse. He shared that working out helps him keep a clear mind. “The most important thing about [working out] for me is that it just kind of keeps my mind right,” he said. He emphasized that on days when he has a busy morning and can’t make it to the gym until later, he can feel the difference.

For Jesse, exercising is more than just about staying fit. It is also a way to relieve stress. He said, “It’s a stress reliever, and it’s always been an anchor for me since I started working out when I was 14 or 15.” It seems that keeping active is a big part of his life and mental well-being.
