JoJo, the pop star known for hits like "Leave (Get Out)" and "Too Little Too Late," has shared a touching and honest story in her new memoir, Over the Influence.

In her book, JoJo talks about a tough time in her life and career when she felt like an outsider, even when hanging out with stars like Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez.

At 12 years old, JoJo signed a big deal with Blackground Records. She quickly became famous with her catchy songs. But her success hit a roadblock when the record label lost its way in distributing her music.

JoJo couldn’t release new songs, which was very frustrating for her. She sued Blackground and, in 2014, finally broke free from her contract.

During this rough period, JoJo found comfort in new friendships. She met Selena Gomez through Francia Raisa and started hanging out with her. Selena even introduced JoJo to her best friend, Taylor Swift. One memorable day, Selena invited JoJo to Taylor’s house for a Galentine’s Day party.

At the party, Taylor had set up a fun arts and crafts area. Guests took pictures and filled out cute questionnaires about their qualities, what they looked for in a partner, and why they were single. JoJo enjoyed this light-hearted activity and felt a strong connection with Taylor and Selena.

JoJo and Selena bonded over their experiences as young stars. JoJo appreciated Taylor’s support.

Taylor even talked about JoJo’s songs she loved and expressed how unfair it was that JoJo couldn’t release music because of the legal issues with her label. JoJo felt Taylor truly believed in her.

However, JoJo also had mixed feelings. She noticed that other people at the party seemed to pity her. She worried they thought she might never overcome her career struggles or that she was stuck in a difficult situation. JoJo wondered if they could sense her insecurities or if she was just imagining it.

Besides these feelings, JoJo valued the kindness and support she received from Taylor and Selena. Their friendship and encouragement were a bright spot during a challenging time in her life.

JoJo's memoir gives readers a glimpse into her life and career, showing how even celebrities can face tough moments and feel like outsiders.

Her story highlights the power of friendship and the importance of staying hopeful, even when things seem tough.
