K-Pop Star Taeil Exits NCT Amid Serious Sexual Crime Allegations

South Korean singer Moon Taeil, known as Taeil, has left the popular K-pop group NCT. The news came after allegations of a sexual crime against him surfaced. His agency, SM Entertainment, made the announcement on Wednesday, leaving fans worldwide shocked.

SM Entertainment, one of South Korea's leading entertainment companies, used X (formerly known as Twitter) to share the news. 

In their statement, they revealed that the 30-year-old singer is involved in a criminal investigation related to a sexual crime. However, they did not provide any details about the nature of the crime. 

The company stressed that they "understood the seriousness of the situation" and decided that Taeil could no longer be part of the group.

A Tough Decision for Taeil and SM Entertainment

The choice to remove Taeil from NCT was not easy. According to SM Entertainment, they discussed the matter with Taeil before reaching this conclusion. 

Although he has left the group, Taeil’s contract with SM Entertainment has not been ended yet. The company also mentioned that Taeil is fully helping with the ongoing police investigation.

The Bangbae Police Station in Seoul confirmed that they are looking into Taeil's involvement in a sexual crime. 

While South Korean media reported this, the exact details of the crime are still unknown. The police have not shared any public statements about the case.

Taeil’s Journey with NCT

Taeil joined NCT in 2016 and quickly became a key member of the group. NCT, which stands for Neo Culture Technology, is a well-known boy band recognized for its creative music that blends pop, R&B, and hip-hop. 

The group has over two dozen members divided into various subunits, including NCT 127, NCT Dream, and NCT U. Taeil was recently active in NCT 127, contributing to their latest album released in July.

Fans of NCT admired Taeil for his singing talent and stage presence. His sudden departure has left many in shock, as he was an important part of the group’s success. Even with the allegations, some fans are still supporting him, waiting for more information to come out.

Taeil’s Recent Challenges

This isn’t the first time Taeil has faced difficulties in his career. In August of last year, Taeil was involved in a car accident while riding his motorcycle in downtown Seoul. 

The accident left him with injuries, forcing him to take a break from his busy schedule to focus on recovery. After this setback, Taeil made a strong return, continuing his activities with NCT 127 until now.

K-pop’s Global Impact

K-pop, which began in South Korea, has become a worldwide sensation, especially after the rise of BTS in the late 2010s. NCT is one of the leading groups contributing to this wave, with their music charting on Billboard lists and gaining international attention.
