Kristin Cavallari has some news to share. The former star of “Laguna Beach” recently ended her relationship with Mark Estes. In her podcast, “Let’s Be Honest with Kristin Cavallari,” she opened up about the breakup in an episode called “The Break Up.”

Kristin spoke warmly about Mark, calling him the “best boyfriend” she ever had. She made it clear that she was the one who decided to end the relationship.

“I broke up with Mark because I just know, long term, it’s not right,” she said. It wasn't because of love lost or any arguments. Kristin praised Mark for being sweet and supportive during their time together.

However, Kristin explained that their age difference played a big role in her decision. Kristin is 37 years old, while Mark is only 24. They dated for about seven months, and during that time, Kristin often mentioned their 13-year age gap. She even made fun TikTok videos about it.

Kristin said, “I just know, long term, he needs to experience life.” She thinks it’s important for Mark to enjoy his mid-20s.

“Those are crucial years,” she explained. Kristin believes this is a time when someone really finds themselves. She wants Mark to have that chance.

Kristin has been very aware of Mark’s age throughout their relationship. “I wasn’t ignoring the fact that he was younger,” she said. She feels good about her decision and believes their breakup is not a bad thing. In fact, she called her time with Mark “the best relationship of my life.”

With tears in her eyes, she shared, “He will make someone so happy one day.” Kristin believes that one day Mark will look back and understand her reasons for the breakup. “I actually think one day he will thank me,” she added. She knows it’s hard to see things clearly when you are only 24 years old.

Kristin also talked about her children. She has three kids, Camden, Jaxon, and Saylor, with her ex-husband Jay Cutler. She does not regret introducing Mark to her children. As she looks ahead, she feels hopeful that she and Mark can still be friends. “I think it’s hard to be friends if there’s still emotion involved,” she said. She believes it might take some time, but she wants Mark in her life in “some capacity.”

Mark’s team also released a statement. They said he has “immense love and respect” for Kristin. He is focusing on his work and a new project with Vice Studios.

When asked about dating again, Kristin said she isn’t interested right now. “I have no interest in getting back into the dating world,” she explained. For now, her main focus is on her kids and work. Kristin shared that she has a lot going on in her life. She is moving into a new home and prioritizing her health.

“I don’t really know where men fall in that list,” she said with a laugh. Kristin understands that her feelings might change over time, but for now, she is happy with her life as it is.
