Nintendo and Pokémon Company Sue ‘Palworld’ Producer for Patent Infringement

Nintendo and The Pokémon Company are suing Pocketpair Inc. over their hit game "Palworld," saying it copies Pokémon ideas. The lawsuit asks for the game to be stopped and for damages to be paid.

Nintendo and The Pokémon Company have filed a lawsuit against Pocketpair Inc., a Tokyo-based game studio. They claim that Pocketpair copied their ideas when creating their popular game, “Palworld.” 

The lawsuit was filed with the Tokyo District Court on Wednesday. Nintendo and The Pokémon Company want to stop Pocketpair from selling the game, and they are asking for money to cover the damages they believe the game has caused.

“Palworld” was released in mid-January and quickly became a big hit. In just one month, more than 25 million people started playing it. Many describe the game as "Pokémon with guns" because players use guns to capture and train creatures called "pals." Nintendo and The Pokémon Company think the game is too much like Pokémon, one of their most famous video games.
