The epicenter was situated about 11 miles south of Rancho Palos Verdes, and the earthquake had a depth of around 7 miles. 

No injuries or damages have been reported at this time. 

Therefore, A massive earthquake has struck central Japan, causing in the destruction of buildings and power outages for tens of thousands of homes. As a result, residents in coastal areas have fled to higher ground.

The quake, which initially measured a magnitude of 7.6, caused waves of approximately 1 meter (3 feet) along the west coast of Japan and neighboring South Korea. Authorities have warned that larger waves could potentially occur.

Yoshimasa Hayashi, a spokesperson for the Japanese government, informed reporters that the earthquake has caused extensive damage, including destroyed houses and fires. The army has been deployed to assist with rescue efforts, while authorities continue to evaluate the overall impact.

Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida has urged search-and-rescue teams to make every effort to save lives despite the challenges posed by blocked roads in affected areas.
