Prince William is going to Germany to watch England in the Euro 2024 quarter-final. A petition with over 63,000 signatures is calling for a "rethink" on giving Prince Harry, 39, the Pat Tillman Award for his work with the Invictus Games.
Mary Tillman, the late Pat Tillman's mother, believes others deserve the award more than Prince Harry. However, ESPN, the sporting network behind the award, defended its choice, praising the “incredible” work of the Invictus Games.
A spokesperson told Sky News, "Not everyone will agree with all honorees, but The Invictus Games Foundation does incredible work, and ESPN believes this is worth celebrating."
Meanwhile, Kensington Palace has confirmed that Prince William will attend England’s match against Switzerland on Saturday. As the president of the Football Association, he will cheer on Gareth Southgate’s team in Dusseldorf as they aim for a semi-final spot.
