Russia has said it shot down 158 Ukrainian drones overnight. This is a lot of drones, showing how serious the fighting is. Two of these drones were intercepted over Moscow, and nine were shot down in the areas around Moscow.

The Kursk region saw the most drones—46 in total. Ukraine has recently sent more forces into this area, making it very important. Another 34 drones were taken down in the Bryansk region, 28 in the Voronezh region, and 14 in the Belgorod region. All these places are near Ukraine.

Drones were also shot down further into Russia. One was taken down in the Tver region, which is north-west of Moscow, and another in Ivanovo, north-east of the capital. Russia’s defense ministry said drones were intercepted in 15 different regions.

In Moscow, debris from one of the drones caused a fire at an oil refinery. This shows how these drone strikes are affecting Russia.

Ukraine has been attacking Russian targets more often this year. They have been focusing on refineries and oil facilities to slow down Russia’s military plans.

Meanwhile, Russia has made some progress in Ukraine. On Sunday, Russia said it had taken control of two towns, Pivnichne and Vyimka, in the Donetsk region. This area is important to both sides, and Russia is moving closer to Pokrovsk, a key supply point for Ukraine.

In Ukraine, the air force reported shooting down eight out of 11 drones launched by Russia overnight. This shows that both sides are fighting back hard.

The conflict is also hurting civilians. In Ukraine, shelling in the Sumy region killed one person and injured four others. In Kharkiv, five people were hurt from shelling. Another attack on Kharkiv on Sunday injured six more people and damaged a shopping center, a sports facility, and some homes.

The fighting continues to affect many people and places, and both sides are trying hard to win.
