Saudi Arabia warns the United States of regional catastrophe if Israel launches Gaza operation

Saudi Arabia's officials firmly warning the United States that Israel's ground operation in the Gaza Strip could spell catastrophe for the Middle East.

Officials from Saudi Arabia have repeatedly issued this warning to high-ranking American officials.

One of the employees of the administration of U.S. President Joe Biden mentions that the Saudis evidently do not want an Israeli invasion of the Gaza Strip. Saudi officials also conveyed their warning about a ground operation to American lawmakers.

Senator Richard Blumenthal, a Democrat from Connecticut and a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee was one of the ten senators who met with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the de facto ruler of the kingdom, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia last weekend.

"The Saudi leadership was hopeful that a ground operation could be avoided for reasons of stability as well as the loss of life," said Blumenthal.
