Several dead in shooting in a university of central Prague, police say gunman ‘eliminated’

Czech police reported that a gunman has committed a fatal attack at a university building in the central of Prague and the gunman has subsequently been eliminated.

The authorities announced on Thursday, through X (previously known as Twitter), that the building is currently under evacuation. Sadly, there have been multiple fatalities and many people suffered injuries at the incident site.
The police didn't give any information about the victims or what happened exactly in the shooting in Prague. They just said that officers were sent to Jan Palach Square because of the incident at a school. According to Czech media, Charles University Faculty of Arts was the location of the shooting, and the teachers and students there were told to stay locked inside while the police were dealing with the situation.
A private outlet called TV Nora reported that there was an explosion and a gunman on the roof of a building in the city's historic center. The Interior Minister, Vit Rakusan, appeared on Czech TV and said that they didn't have any confirmation of other gunmen and asked the public to follow the police's instructions.
Prague Mayor Bohuslav Svoboda said that the philosophy department at Charles University was subsequently cleared out, while the police department confirmed the closure of the square. They also advised people to leave the nearby streets and remain indoors.
Jana Postova, a representative for Prague’s rescue service, verified that multiple persons suffering injuries, but provided no details information.
