Earlier, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and members of the new cabinet came to Bangabhaban in the evening to take oath. Officials, businessmen, diplomats, civil society representatives and guests were present at the oath ceremony.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina went to meet the President at Bangabhaban on Wednesday (January 10) afternoon. There the President formally invited him to form the new government.

In the notification issued by the Cabinet Department on this day, the president decided to appoint Sheikh Hasina, the trusted member of the majority of the 12th National Parliament, as the Prime Minister. At the same time, he allowed to establish a fresh cabinet under her guidance. 

In a press conference at the Secretariat on Wednesday evening, the Cabinet Secretary said. The names of the ministers and state ministers of the new cabinet were announced by Mahbub Hossain. He said, 25 are ministers, and 11 are state ministers.

After that, the president appointed 25 ministers and 11 state ministers of the new cabinet formed under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Sahabuddin. A notification in this regard was issued by the cabinet department on Thursday afternoon.

Awami League won 222 out of 299 seats in the 12th National Assembly elections. 62 people were elected as independents, leaving behind the opposition party of the 11th parliament, Jatiya Party got 11 seat. Awami League's partner party Jasad and Bangladesh Workers Party won two and Kalyan Party won one. Polling for one seat is suspended.
