Taylor Swift’s publicist Tree Paine slams gossip account Deuxmoi for Joe Alwyn marriage rumors

     Dec 1, 2023

Taylor Swift’s publicist, Tree Paine, recently addressed rumors about the pop star's alleged marriage or marriage ceremony with her ex Joe Alwyn. Paine took to X to explode these news, clarifying that Swift and Alwyn have not gotten married despite their split earlier this year.

Paine's response was in reference to a post on the celebrity gossip account Deuxmoi, which suggested that Swift had a ceremony in the UK in either 2020 or 2021 and described it as a "marriage" by multiple sources. However, the post emphasized that it was never legally binding, and the Deuxmoi account is adamant about their stance.

Deuxmoi is a popular Instagram account that shares celebrity gossip while maintaining anonymity. With a massive following of 2 million on the platform, this account has also expanded its presence by publishing a book and hosting a regular podcast in the realm of celebrity news.

I have no incentive to deceive anyone, and I couldn't care less about what she does!" the post further expressed. "I apologize that she didn't inform you all about it through a song, but just because she doesn't sing about something doesn't mean it didn't happen! she added.

In her post, Paine vehemently denies that the famous singer ever engaged in any form of matrimony.

Enough is enough with these false rumors about Taylor from Deuxmoi, Paine said. There was NEVER a marriage or any kind of ceremony whatsoever.

She further criticized the gossip account for the harm it causes to individuals involved.

This is an outrageous thing to publish, Paine said. It's high time you take responsibility for the pain and distress you inflict with posts like these.

Deuxmoi has not immediately responded press request for a comment. Nonetheless, the account did share a response to Paine on its Instagram stories.

Late Thursday evening, Deuxmoi shared a screenshot of Paine's tweet and responded by saying, I don't make any money from lying, can publicists say the same? Deuxmoi also criticized Paine's choice of words, saying that relating something from years ago to "pain and trauma" after recent events seemed inappropriate.

The response concluded with an apology to Taylor Swift. It's unclear what exactly Deuxmoi was referring to with the comment about "what just happened," but it could potentially be about a young fan who tragically passed away at one of Swift's concerts in Brazil due to extreme heat.

Swift herself has been in London for the premiere of Beyonce's film "Renaissance," where she walked the red carpet and took selfies with fans, reciprocating Beyonce's attendance at Swift's premiere for her own concert film, "Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour," earlier in the fall.
