The 57th World Ijtema began on Friday with the prayer of Lakhs of Muslims in Turagatir, Bangladesh
Lakhs of Muslims offered Friday prayers together on the first day of the first phase of World Ijtema at Turagatir in Tongi. Apart from the regular Tabligh Jamaat, lakhs of Muslims from around the world came to Dhaka-Gazipur and surrounding areas and participated in the Friday prayers.

Maulana Zubair, the imam of Kakrail Mosque, led the Friday prayers held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday (2nd February).
