Ukrainian missiles strike Russian Crimea shipyard, damages ship

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, a Ukrainian missile attack on Saturday targeted the Zaliv shipyard in Kerch, located in the eastern part of the Crimean Peninsula. The ministry stated that out of the 15 cruise missiles launched, 13 were intercepted by Russian forces, but the remaining missiles damaged a Russian ship in the shipyard.

But the specific ship and the extent of the damage were not disclosed by Russia, Ukrainian Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk confirmed the strike in a Telegram post and mentioned that one of Russia's technologically advanced ships was present at the shipyard during the attack.
“In the meantime, we are waiting for official confirmation of the results once again; I would like to thank the pilots of the tactical aviation of the Air Forces for successful cruise missile strikes on the infrastructure of the Zaliv shipbuilding yard in Kerch, where one of the most modern ships of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation, a Kalibr cruise missile carrier, was stationed,” Oleshchuk said.
In 2014, the Crimean Peninsula was unlawfully taken over by Russia from Ukraine. In the ongoing 21-month conflict between Ukraine and Russia, Crimea has now become a primary focus. As a part of its defensive strategy against Russia, Ukraine has initiated a series of offensives specifically aimed at Crimea in recent weeks.
