The story follows Ortega's character, who is expelled from high school and finds herself struggling to fit in at Nevermore, a school for outcasts. With its mix of mystery and horror elements, the eight-episode teen drama quickly became a massive success on Netflix, captivating audiences. 

Netflix's highly anticipated reimagining of Addams Wednesday, created by Jenna Ortega and Tim Burton, proved to be a massive hit with audiences, leading to the exciting reveal of Wednesday season 2. Navigated by the visionary Tim Burton, the inaugural season of Wednesday delves into the story of a young Addams as she embarks on her journey at the renowned Nevermore Academy, a prestigious institution for those with supernatural abilities who don't fit the traditional mold.

Over the course of season 1, viewers are treated to a captivating narrative as the central character grapples with the challenges of adapting to her new surroundings while unraveling a long-standing family secret, braving a harrowing murder mystery that has haunted her parents for three decades. 

According to Deadline, the highly anticipated second season of Wednesday will soon be accessible for streaming on Netflix. Despite the show's immense popularity and the eager anticipation for its return, the production of Season 2 was affected by the Hollywood strikes that occurred during the latter half of 2023.

However, fans can look forward to the new season as production is scheduled to commence in late April in a different setting, Ireland. The release of Season 2 is expected to take place in either 2024 or 2025.

Ortega is set to be promoted to the role of producer for season 2 on Wednesday. In previous statements, the celebrity mentioned that the decision was made to highlight the mysterious aspects of Wednesdays. Additionally, she revealed that season 2 would forgo romantic love interests and instead revisit the love triangle between Tyler and Xavier from season 1. The resolution of the story's ending remains uncertain in light of this alteration.

While the return of the main Addams family members is expected, there is currently no information available regarding the casting for season 2.
