A woman tragically lost her life after falling approximately 100 feet inside a cave in Virginia on Friday according to the Officials. The Giles County Sheriff's Office was notified through a 911 call, informing them of the incident.

This information was shared in a news release by the county's emergency services department. 

According to reports, officials have identified the woman as Autumn Nicole Draper, 38, from Fairlawn. The cave located in Staffordsville, approximately 60 miles to the west of Roanoke. 

After arrived, the Celco Emergency Response team and Blacksburg Rescue Squad's Technical Rescue Cave team were called for for extra support. Upon their arrival, the rescuers found a lifeless woman inside the cave and proceeded to take out her body, as confirmed by officials. 

According to reports, authorities have not provided information regarding whether the cave was officially attracted as a tourist attraction or simply an unregulated cave. 

The purpose behind her presence in the cave continues to be a mystery.

All rescue personnel have ended up their operations at the site, while the incident remains an ongoing investigation.
