This factory is special because it will be the first in the world to use a modern assembly line for making flying cars. The goal is to begin mass production and deliveries by 2026.

What Makes This Factory Unique?

The new manufacturing base will focus on producing the flying body of Xpeng's modular flying car. The factory will have the capacity to make 10,000 flying car units each year. Covering about 180,000 square meters, this facility will be located in the Guangzhou Development Zone.

Xpeng Aeroht claims that their factory combines high standards from the aircraft industry with the large-scale production methods of the car industry. This approach aims to improve quality, lower costs, and speed up delivery times compared to traditional methods used in aerospace.

Milestones Achieved

Recently, Xpeng Aeroht completed the first manned test flight of its flying car. The public will get to see its first flight at the China Airshow on November 12. This event will be a significant milestone in their journey toward creating a new kind of vehicle.

The modular flying car will go on pre-sale by the end of this year. The company hopes to attract buyers with an estimated price of no more than 2 million yuan (about $280,880). This flying car will not only take off and land vertically, but it will also come with a parent vehicle that can recharge it.

Growing Demand and Pre-Orders

Though official pre-sales have not started yet, there is already strong interest. Xpeng Aeroht reports they have received over 1,000 pre-orders for their modular flying car. During a closed meeting with key partners on September 4, they mentioned this impressive number of pre-orders.

Additionally, on September 27, Xpeng Aeroht announced a partnership with two companies in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province. This partnership secured pre-orders for 150 more modular flying cars. These figures show a growing demand for this innovative vehicle.

Support from Local Authorities

Xpeng Aeroht signed a cooperation agreement with the Guangzhou Development District authorities in July. This agreement will help the company with land use, financing, and other areas related to flying car applications.

The support from local government is crucial for the successful launch of this factory and the future of flying cars.

The company will establish a research and development, manufacturing, and sales center in the Guangzhou Development Zone. This center will focus on testing products, production, and sales operations.

In July 2022, Xpeng Aeroht opened its first pilot plant in Hualong Town, Panyu District, Guangzhou. This plant is important for testing and validating processes before mass production begins.

The Future of Flying Cars

Xpeng Aeroht is paving the way for the future of transportation. With their ambitious plans and strong community support, they are working to change how we think about travel. Imagine hopping into a flying car to skip traffic and reach your destination faster.

As Xpeng Aeroht continues its journey, the company aims to make flying cars a reality for everyone. Keep an eye out for the public maiden flight at the China Airshow on November 12 and the pre-sales starting soon. The future of travel may soon be in the sky!
