The 81st annual Golden Globe Awards nominees were announced on Monday morning, indicating the start of the 2024 awards season in Hollywood. "Barbenheimer" emerged as the frontrunner with nine nominations for "Barbie" and eight for "Oppenheimer," while the final season of "Succession" also accumulated nine nods.
Cedric "The Entertainer" and Wilmer Valderrama announced the nominations in 27 categories, recognizing excellence in both film and television.

The 2024 Golden Globe Awards ceremony will be held on Sunday, Jan. 7, from 8-11 p.m. ET (5-8 p.m. PT).
The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), which used to organize and vote for the Globes' nominees and winners, faced significant controversy due to allegations of racism and ethical concerns. Consequently, the HFPA was dissolved, and the Golden Globes were sold to Dick Clark Productions.
Now, the selection of nominees and winners for the Golden Globe Awards is carried out by a voting body consisting of 300 members representing 75 countries.
The upcoming Golden Globes will introduce two new categories this year, which are cinematic and box office achievements in motion pictures, as well as the best stand-up comedian on television. Films and series released between January 1st and December 31st will be eligible for consideration.
