Discover, a subsidiary of Lufthansa, will strike on Sunday and Monday in Germany

The pilots' union VC in Germany has urged its members to go on strike for 48 hours at Lufthansa Group's leisure airline Discover. The strike is scheduled to take place from Sunday to Monday in an effort to negotiate for better pay and working conditions.

This will be the third strike in less than two months at Discover, where pilots are demanding a collective labor agreement for around 400 employees. The VC stated that Lufthansa has not presented a satisfactory offer.
This declaration is made one week following the initial strike on January 26, which was initiated by pilot and flight attendant unions, along with a 5-hour walkout prior to Christmas.
Marcel Grِls, the union's negotiator representing 9,600 pilots in Germany, expresses his disappointment, saying that even after two days of strike, Discover management has yet to present an offer.
The pilots' demands primarily revolve around the implementation of a salary scale and the establishment of regulations concerning flight missions and rest periods.
In January, the German pilots' union VC announced that a significant majority of its members, specifically 95%, have voted in favor of initiating strikes at Discover, the leisure subsidiary of Lufthansa Group. The purpose behind these strikes is to exert pressure during negotiations for the establishment of a collective agreement, as reported by the union.
Discover Airlines, which was established in 2021, serves as Lufthansa Group's leisure airline and primarily operates flights from Frankfurt and Munich to various holiday destinations. As said on its website, Discover Airlines currently employs around 400 pilots and maintains a fleet of 24 aircraft.
