Attal, became France's youngest and first head of government to publicly support gay. On Monday, Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne's resignation was accepted by Emmanuel Macron. Gabriel Attal was appointed following the resignation of 62-year-old Borne, who had served as prime minister for less than two years.
Elisabeth Borne served as the second female Prime Minister of France. European Parliament elections in the middle of the current year. Before that, there may be a reshuffle in the cabinet. That is why Elisabeth is considered abdicated.
In a statement, President Emmanuel Macron said that, Elisabeth had shown 'courage, commitment and determination' during her time in office.
Gabriele will be in charge of leading the French government in the European Parliament elections next June. Gabriel Atal's rise to French politics is not long in coming. Even 10 years ago, he was an unknown advisor to the French Ministry of Health.
Gabriel Atal was elected Member of Parliament in 2017. He was able to catch Macro's attention due to his argumentative qualities. At the age of 29, he got a junior position in the Ministry of Education. Since 2020, he has been working as a spokesperson for the French government. He was the country's budget minister for a short time and took charge of the education ministry in July last year.
Gabriel Attal will take charge of the Hotel Matignon (Prime Minister's Office) as the first openly gay Prime Minister in French history.
