Trump’s 2020 election could have averted the 'Ukrainian crisis,' says Putin

Kamala Harris, the Vice President, has raised questions about Donald Trump’s ability to be president. She made these comments while campaigning in Michigan, a key state in the upcoming election.

Harris, who will turn 60 on Sunday, pointed out that Trump is 78 years old. Age was a big topic when President Joe Biden, who is 81, was running against Trump. However, that topic faded after Biden decided not to run again.

Before a rally in Grand Rapids, Harris told reporters that she found it concerning that Trump seemed to be skipping interviews.

She mentioned reports saying Trump was tired and had chosen not to attend a second debate with her. “It should be a concern,” she said. “If he can't handle the rigors of the campaign trail, is he fit to do the job? That’s a legitimate question.”

In response, Trump fired back. As he arrived in Detroit, he spoke to reporters and said he was feeling great. "I've gone 48 days now without a rest," Trump said. He insisted he was not tired and felt very energized. “We’re doing really well in the polls because the American people don’t want her,” he added.

Current polls show that the race between Harris and Trump in Michigan is very close. Both candidates are working hard to win over voters in this important state.

In a recent interview on Fox & Friends, Trump also expressed frustration about negative ads being shown about him on television. He said he planned to talk to Rupert Murdoch, the founder of Fox News, to ask him to stop airing these ads until election day on November 5. “I’m going to say, ‘Rupert, please do it this way and then we’re going to win, because everyone wants that,’” Trump explained.

While in Hamtramck, a Detroit suburb, Trump met with the city’s first Muslim mayor, Amer Ghalib. He was looking for support from Arab Americans in Michigan, many of whom are unhappy with the Democratic party and current leaders over the US’s stance on the conflict in Gaza. Trump stated, “We all ultimately want one thing. We want peace in the Middle East. We’re going to get peace in the Middle East. It’s going to happen very fast. It can happen with the right leadership in Washington.”

Later that evening, Trump returned to Detroit for a rally. However, he had a bit of trouble when his microphone stopped working for about 20 minutes. “I won’t pay the bill for this stupid company that rented us this junk,” he joked once the sound returned. “This is the worst mic I’ve ever had in my life.” This incident happened shortly after he had swayed and danced to music at a town hall in Pennsylvania when two audience members felt unwell.

Michigan has about 8.4 million voters, and it offers 15 Electoral College votes. This could be a key number in the election. Both Harris and Trump are working hard to win over important groups in Michigan, including Arab Americans, seniors, union workers, and the working class.

On Thursday, Harris accused Trump of “gaslighting” the American public about the attack on the US Capitol on January 6, 2021. Trump has called that day a “day of love,” which raised eyebrows.

Public and campaign polls show that the race in Michigan is very tight. This is worrying for Democrats, especially since Trump won the state by just 11,000 votes in 2016. In 2020, Biden beat Trump in Michigan by a larger margin of 155,000 votes.
