Perry Farrell, the lead singer of the band Jane’s Addiction, is getting medical help after an argument with guitarist Dave Navarro. The argument happened during their show in Boston on September 13.
Fans at the concert saw Farrell, 65, get into a fight with Navarro on stage. Farrell even seemed to throw a punch at his bandmate.
After the fight, the band stopped the show, and soon after, they canceled the rest of their tour. They had 12 more concerts planned in the U.S. and Canada.
Perry’s wife, Etty Lau Farrell, spoke out after the incident. She said Perry has appointments with doctors, including a neurologist and an ear, nose, and throat specialist. They are worried that something serious could be wrong.
Etty also shared that she was surprised by Perry’s actions, saying, “Perry is usually a very gentle person. We are just as shocked as you are that he acted this way. But he must have been pushed to his absolute limit, and we are very sorry.”
She added that they are taking time to rest and reflect. “Perry has appointments with doctors. If you know Perry, you know that I don’t need to address the false stories going around. Our hearts know the truth,” she wrote.
Etty reassured fans that Perry will get better soon. She believes he will return to the stage when he’s ready to share his music again.
“With all of your love and support, Perry will recover. He will be happy again, and he will share his music and vision with everyone,” she added. “When Perry is ready, he will come back stronger, and together we can change the world.”
Farrell Apologizes for His Actions
After the Boston show, Perry Farrell apologized to his fans and bandmates. He posted on Instagram, saying he was very sorry for his behavior. He said that after having time to think, he realized how wrong his actions were.
Farrell explained that he had reached a breaking point, but he took full responsibility for what happened.
Band Cancels the Rest of Their Tour
After the fight in Boston, Jane’s Addiction canceled the rest of their U.S. tour. Dave Navarro, along with bandmates Eric Avery and Stephen Perkins, posted a message on Instagram. They said they are worried about Perry’s health and safety.
The band explained that due to Perry’s mental health struggles, they decided they had to stop the tour. They said they wanted to make sure everyone, including Perry, stayed safe.
They apologized to their fans, especially those who had already bought tickets, and said they were sad they couldn’t perform the shows.
The band also said that they didn’t feel confident they could give good performances while Perry was struggling. “Our hearts are broken,” they wrote.
Jane’s Addiction had 12 more concerts planned in the U.S. and Canada before canceling the rest of their tour.
