Billionaire businessman and Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban reiterated on Wednesday that he has no intention to run for president in 2024. This comes after previously saying in July that he was not considering a third-party candidacy, citing opposition from his family.
When asked if there had been any change in his stance, Cuban confirmed in an email that he still had no plans to run for office.
There has been increased speculation online about the possibility of Mark Cuban running for president after he announced his departure from "Shark Tank" and plans to sell his majority stake in the Dallas Mavericks. Cuban has been a part of "Shark Tank" for 15 seasons and bought the Mavericks in 2000.
In 2020 Cuban has publicly mentioned a potential independent presidential run and confirmed that he has had discussions with No Labels, a bipartisan group aiming to get a third-party candidate on the ballot in all 50 states. However, the group's founder, Nancy Jacobson, said that they do not spend a lot of time deliberating potential candidates.
No Labels is planning a convention in Dallas in April, where they will choose a Democrat and a Republican to possibly run together as a ticket against the major party candidates.
