Widodo announced that he has started holding meetings in the new office. He met with executives from the Nusantara development authority and plans to meet with provincial leaders soon.

The presidential office is getting ready with new furniture, including tables and chairs. The city now has working clean water, electricity, and internet. Widodo is confident that the new “Garuda Presidential Palace” will be ready for the Independence Day ceremony on August 17.

Nusantara will celebrate its first Independence Day next month. However, the move has faced delays. Key officials resigned last month due to slow construction. Many buildings are not finished. The new state palace is 88% complete, and several ministry buildings are only partially usable.

The project to build Nusantara costs $33 billion. The state budget covers only 20% of the costs. Most of the funding comes from private investors. Public Works Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said the city has 10 megawatts of solar power and enough clean water.
