The Tesla Cybertruck has recently been crashed through its the Tesla Cybertruck's first public accident. Images of the crash were initially shared by Reddit user Boddhya, and further information has been reported by The Autopian. The incident involved a Cybertruck and a Toyota Corolla, and the details were provided by the California Highway Patrol.
At approximately 2:05 pm on December 28, 2023, CHP Redwood City units responded to a two-vehicle crash on SR-35 (Skyline Boulevard), south of Page Mill Road. Our initial investigation suggests that a Toyota Corolla was traveling south on SR-35 when, for unknown reasons, the driver veered to the right and crashed with a dirt embankment on the right shoulder. Subsequently, the Toyota re-entered the road, crossed over the double yellow lines into the northbound lane, and crashed with a Tesla Cybertruck traveling north on SR-35.

From the scene, only one injury was reported, with the driver of the Cybertruck experiencing complaints of pain. The CHP has categorized it as a suspected minor injury, and the driver declined transportation to a medical facility. The two other passengers in the Cybertruck, along with the 17-year-old driver of the Corolla (as reported by The Verge) that crashed with the Tesla, did not sustain any injuries.
Furthermore, The Autopian find out that that the person driving the Cybertruck was a Tesla engineer based in San Francisco. Although the Cybertruck had Texas license plates, it was registered to an address in Palo Alto. Therefore, it is possible that this particular truck was a company vehicle and not one of the initial batch of production vehicles already delivered to customers.

The photo of the Cybertruck taken from the passenger side reveals minimal damage, but a subsequent photo shared on Twitter shows the impact on the driver's side. The airbags have been deployed, and there is noticeable damage to the rear fender and rear door area. The charge port appears particularly distorted in the photograph.
A YouTube video from dashcam footage captured from a passing vehicle, shows that the front driver-side door and front fender of the Cybertruck remain intact and relatively safe. Based on these images, it appears that the Corolla made contact with the rear of the Cybertruck in the crash.
