John Cena gave a heartfelt speech to his wrestling fans Saturday night, announcing his retirement from the ring. He declared next year's WWE WrestleMania his final one.

Speaking in Toronto, Canada, Cena faced a crowd that didn't want him to leave. Fans started hissing when he announced his "official retirement," which will feature a farewell tour next year.

Cena declared that he would retire just after the 2025 Royal Rumble, the 2025 Elimination Chamber, and WrestleMania 2025 in Las Vegas.

At the end of his speech, the crowd chanted, "Thank you, Cena," which he appreciated as a kind gesture.

He added, "Thanks for letting me perform in the house you built," "I appreciate your loud voice and honest feedback."

Cena, a 16-time WWE champion over nearly 20 years, has also found success in Hollywood with roles in films like "Barbie," "Argylle," and the "Fast & Furious" series. Despite his acting achievements, he's remained committed to wrestling. He explained his decision to step aside now during the WWE "Money in the Bank" event, likening it to a "money in the bank" moment.

"Why now? It's like money in the bank—the ultimate symbol of opportunity," Cena said. "This farewell isn't just tonight—it's filled with opportunities."

He mentioned WWE's "RAW" Monday night fights moving to Netflix, a historic move for the franchise. Cena looks forward to celebrating his many "lasts" and the new "firsts" coming to WWE.

Cena teased upcoming matches, challenging WWE superstars: "If you want some, come get some."

"This is the last time," Cena declared.

In a post-show press conference, Cena clarified he'll remain in WWE, with WrestleMania not being his final fight. His farewell tour, spanning from January to December 2025, aims to include many dates, concluding with his last in-ring fight.

Cena told reporters he proposed a plan to stay involved with WWE in various roles, despite not competing.

WWE is more likely his home and he always loved it, Cena expressed. "Even though I feel I'm nearing the end physically, I want to stay connected to something I cherish."
